FAQ

Q. Do I need to install any extra venting that will have to go to the outside? Where does the air go that is drawn into the filter fan housing from my toilet?

No extra venting is required.  The bad air that is drawn from the toilet through the special JON-E-VAC® Toilet Seat is drawn through the hoses into the Filter Fan Housing Unit and comes out as clean, fresh air at the vents on the bottom.  That’s why the filter fan housing unit should be installed no closer than 2” or 5cm from the floor allowing the air to escape.

Do I have to buy a new toilet to be able to use the JON-E-VAC® Toilet Ventilating System?

No, the special JON-E-VAC® toilet seat fits any regulation size round or elongated toilet whether it is for residential or commercial use.

Is the fan in the toilet seat?

No, the fan and special filter is in the separate filter fan housing unit which is mounted behind your toilet on the wall.
Does the unit use any kind of fragrance in it that would mask the odor or could cause any type of allergy reaction?

No, there are no fragrances or oils used to mask odors. Just a special charcoal filter is used to remove the odor and trap and kill bacteria.
Where does the air go after it is filtered?

It comes out at the bottom of the filter fan housing unit as clean circulated air.
How does the JON-E-VAC® Toilet Ventilating System work?

The odor and bacteria is drawn out through the channels at the bottom of the special toilet seat and travel through the hinge blocks and special studs; where it moves through the hoses into the filter fan housing unit where the special filter removes the odor and traps and kills the bacteria.

How often does the special JON-E-VAC® filter have to be changed?

It depends on usage. Your nose will be the guide. It can be anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. It also depends whether it is used in residential or commercial situations.

Is there any special wiring or electrical work required?

No, all you need is a GFCI plug in your bathroom and you can plug it in. It operates on 24VAC with a 15 ft. long cord for ease of running it along walls or through cabinets.

Does it need any batteries?

No batteries are required whatsoever.

Is there any other toilet ventilating system like it on the market?

No, the JON-E-VAC® Toilet Ventilating System is the only one like it. No other system removes the odor without masking it. And no other system traps and kills the bacteria that is removed directly from the toilet bowl.

Why do I need a JON-E-VAC® Toilet Ventilating System?

No other system does what the JON-E-VAC® will do for your health and comfort. It actually removes the odor without masking it. It traps and kills the bacteria that is removed directly from the toilet bowl and will no longer swirl around your bathroom and land on your toothbrushes, towels, etc. And for public restrooms it will certainly be more pleasant for everyone concerned and be a definite health benefit.
